Dear friends,

At Sumit Foundation, our work with needy patients runs 24×7—taking them to hospitals, arranging medicines, counseling families, and sitting through sleepless nights. The person who quietly leads most of this groundwork is Jitendra (32).

Jitendra isn’t just a team member—he’s family to every patient we touch. He comes from a humble farmer background. Nine years ago, kidney failure turned his life upside down. His father donated a kidney to save him, and the family sold their farmland to fund the transplant. After the transplant, unfortunately both his hip joints were damaged…, and he underwent bilateral total hip replacement surgeries. Even then, Jitendra never stepped back—he was always the first at a patient’s bedside, never once saying no.

Today, life has tested him again. It’s the second time his both hips have failed, and his left elbow is also severely damaged. Doctors have advised strict bed rest until urgent surgeries are done; he cannot manage daily activities. A man who walked miles for others is now struggling to take a few steps.

Understanding the seriousness (he’s a post-transplant patient on lifelong medicines), a few days ago I, Ravindra, took him to India’s top hospitals where such complex surgeries are routinely done—Shalby Hospital (Ahmedabad), Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (Delhi), KIMS Sunshine Hospital and Star Hospital- Hyderabad, and Galaxy Hospital (Bhopal). After multidisciplinary opinions, the plan is urgent bilateral revision total hip replacement with best-in-class implants, along with elbow management and structured rehabilitation. We must operate within one month—any delay risks him becoming bed-bound.

To give Jitendra a real shot at walking again, we need to proceed with Complex Bilateral Revision Hip Surgeries (both hips with best-in-class implants), followed by hospital stay (ICU), tests, medicines, intensive physiotherapy and rehabilitation, with full readiness for any emergency given his high-risk, post-transplant status. After discharge, he will require long follow-ups and safeguards.

Jitendra has stood for everyone. Today, let’s stand for him—so he can stand again. ❤️

We’re raising ₹20,00,000 (≈ USD $22,407) not only for Jitendra’s urgent bilateral revision hip replacement surgery but also to cover associated medical expenses and one year of complete follow-up care. Since he is already a post–kidney transplant patient, it is important to plan with backup funds so that any unforeseen complications or emergency situations can be managed without delay. Your contribution will help ensure both his surgery and his safe recovery ahead.
Please contribute your little share of hope. - Ravindra Singh Kshatri (Sumit Foundation)
